East Lancashire's oldest boxing club founded in the Sandygate Youth Club in Burnley's Sandygate area in the late 60's the club has had many other venue's including Mechanics, above the old Kwik-Save and Britannia Mills. Now situated in the Centre of Burnley in-between The General Post Office & BB11 Public House on Hargreaves Street in what has been said one of the best gym's amateur or professional around.
Our mission is to promote Boxing, Health and the Wellbeing of the people living in all areas of Burnley inc the most deprived & disadvantaged communities within Burnley without distinction of race, gender, political & or religious beliefs. Our purpose is to make a significant impact on the local communities 'health & lifestyle' & to provide outlets for young people to develop & participate in the local community.
Our aims are to promote fitness, discipline, friendship, fair-play and respect for all the community & particularly young people. To enable young people to develop & participate in the local community & to improve the self confidence of young people and reduce fear of crime. To increase quality of life by providing a constructive alternative to anti-social behaviour such as drugs & alcohol abuse & social inclusion from interaction with our coaching staff and other young or older people.
All coaches who work voluntary within the club are all required to attend NGB certification courses every 3 years to maintain the highest degree of competency at every level. They are also qualified in first-aid and have child protection & equity training and are all CRB Enhanced Checked.
The club actively seek new members with its school and social links. Working in many area's of the community. Its schools programme is regularly liaising with Burnley Council Sports Development Partnership.
